Yesterday, I was having trouble in using my officemate's player, Creative Zen V Plus, as it is not read by my system (Windows XP). As I thoroughly searched the web, it appears that the device is an MTP device that can only be read by windows XP if it is updated. Unluckily for a user like me, whose copy of windows is not genuine, I have to find other ways to use the player without having my system cracking up.
There are a lot of sites in the net that offer help and support for the player as there as some that even posts CD driver/installers of the player in file sharing sites. But what I stumbled upon is even way easier - not to mention if you have limited time and or bandwidth.
In my small research, the MTP device (Creative Zen V Plus) is easily read by Windows Media Player 11. As we all know, windows media player 11 requires validation from microsoft that is really the problem and that is what I am here for to share:
To install and setup WMP11 bypassing and disabling the genuine Windows validation of WGA is to install components of WMPlayer part by part.
1. Download WMP11.
2. Extract (unrar or unzip) wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe by using extraction tool such as WinRAR.
3. Go to the extracted folder, and execute (run) wmfdist11.exe.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Execute wmp11.exe.
6. Restart the computer.
7. Start using Windows Media Player 11.
After doing the following steps, the player should automatically be read by Windows xp. If creative zen v plus still is not detected, download and install this file (usermode driver) then re-install the device.
Welcome!
